Kimchi Making with NSSA and Harvest Noon!

Description: Take a break from studying and join the Nutritional Sciences Student Association (NSSA) and Harvest Noon on Thursday evening for a fun and interactive workshop on MAKING KIMCHI!

We’ll be going over the health benefits of fermented foods, prepare some kimchi together (led by Aurora from Harvest Noon and Alena from the NSSA), and end the night sampling some kimchi together!

No experience in the kitchen or in fermentation is required.
Please **bring your own container** so you can enjoy your kimchi at home too!

Academic Seminar

Title: Academic Seminar
Description: NSSA will be hosting this term’s academic seminar, featuring a presentation from Jo-Anna Baxter. Come for an informative talk, networking opportunities, and refreshments.

Jo-Anna Baxter is a PhD Candidate at the University of Toronto in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, where her dissertation work centres on assessing the effectiveness of the provision of multiple micronutrient supplements to adolescent girls in rural Pakistan. Previously, she worked on several global health-related research studies, including her MSc thesis work on providing an innovative prenatal calcium supplement to women in Bangladesh. She is passionate about improving maternal and child nutrition through the implementation and effective scale up of evidence-based nutrition interventions during pregnancy and childhood.
